In 1980, he joined Cable News Network's "People Tonight" and for two years he reported for the nationally syndicated "Entertainment Tonight. In 1983, Leach and TeleRep President and Founder Al Masini developed and launched "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. The idea for 'Lifestyles' began to take shape in his mind as I became more and more frustrated with the type of celebrity interviews he was doing for television He would interview all these wonderful interviews in people's houses but we'd never see how they lived. Only see the chairs they were sitting on.
