Congressional Reform Act of 2011 ...

   .
If Speaker John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell are
serious about change in Washington this should be the #1 item on their
legislative agenda in 2011...

                    ***** Congressional Reform Act of 2011 *****

       1. Term Limits: 12 years only, one of the possible options below...

          A. Two Six-year Senate terms
          B. Six Two-year House terms
          C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms

       2.  No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay
when they are out of office.

       3.  Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social
       Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social
Security system immediately.  All future funds flow into the
Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American
       people.

       4. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all
          Americans do.

       5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.
Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

       6. Congress loses their current health care system and participates
in the same health care system as the American people.

       7. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the
           American people (What a concept!).

       8. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void
        effective 1/1/11.

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen.
Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.  The Founding
Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, serve your term(s), then go
       home and back to work.

Congress is a bunch of clowns & joke tellers (jokers) not interested in reform ...
Don't be fooled by these guys ...

The United States Public Debt a Clear and Present Danger to Our Country

The United States Public Debt is presented by the U.S. Treasury as two calculations: "Debt Held by the Public", defined as U.S. Treasury securities held by institutions outside the United States Government, and the "Gross Debt," which includes intra-government obligations (Treasury securities held by the Social Security Trust fund or the Federal Reserve.)

As of September 30, 2010, the "Total Public Debt Outstanding" of $13.56 trillion was approximately 94% of annual GDP of $14.4 trillion, with the constituent parts of the "Debt held by the Public" being approximately 63% of GDP ($9.0 Trillion) and "Intergovernmental Debt" standing at 31% of GDP ($4.5 Trillion).

Campaign Contributions

Definitions - Lobbyists and Campaign Finance ...
There are 13,000 lobbyists in DC that spend annually $3.5 Billion.
What are Lobbyists ?

So what is a Lobbyist?  - Lobbying is a form of advocacy with the intention of influencing decisions made by legislators and officials in the government by individuals, other legislators, constituents, or advocacy groups. A lobbyist is a person who tries to influence legislation on behalf of a special interest or a member of a lobby. Governments often define and regulate organized group lobbying that have become influential.

The ability of individuals, groups, and corporations to lobby the government is protected by the right to petition in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. Lobbyists use time spent with legislators to explain the goals of the organizations they represent and the obstacles elected officials face when dealing with issues, to clients.

Lobbying activities are also performed at the state level, and lobbyists try to influence legislation in the state legislatures in each of the 50 states. At the local municipal level, some lobbying activities occur with city council members and county commissioners, especially in the larger cities and more populous counties.

Since 1998, 43 percent of the 198 members of Congress who left government to join the private sector have registered to lobby using the 'revolving door of their influence. The Lobbying Disclosure Act of 1995 and Honest Leadership and Open Government Act of 2007 increased regulation and transparency of lobbying activities.

In 2009 U.S. President Barack Obama signed two related executive orders and three presidential memoranda on his first day in office to limit Campaign Contributions and Fund Rising.  Campaign Contributions and Lobbyist are a serious problem and clear and present danger to our country.

However U.S. Supreme court took off all restraints on corporations contributing to candidates during the Bush years.
It is difficult to distinguish between legal and illegal contribution. Worldwide Campaign Contributions that amount to bribery is estimated to involve over 1 Trillion US Dollars annually.  A state of unrestrained political corruption is known as a kleptocracy, literally meaning "rule by thieves", and is spreading worldwide.

What is Campaign Finance?  It refers to the fund raising and spending that political campaigns and candidates do for their election campaigns. Campaigns have expenditures, ranging from the cost of travel for the candidate and staff, rent on auditoriums for speeches, as well as the purchasing of air time for TV advertisements, and cost of developing the advertising. Candidates need Campaign Contributions Money to be elected.  Election campaigns need 100’s of millions of dollars.
Campaign Contributions Can Lead to Political Corruption and Bribery
.
U.S. the majority of U.S. Tax Payers are finally in agreement that campaign donors that expect illegitimate government favors such as pasting specific legislation being enacted or defeated on their behalf, in return for their contributions amount to bribery, and are breaking the law, corrupt, and are criminals.
Political Contributions affect various parts of our society's institutions which support governmental and social success. Correct handling of political Contributions is a must if we want our country's ability to regulate of corruption and effectively maintain free and fair elections, effective governance, and a democratic form of government.

More Definitions ….
Let's define what we are going to be referring to as a Pig in this blog …

What separates a good honest hard working, sincere patriotic elected official or government employee from the Pig, who is a clear and present danger to our country …  Pigs are …

  • High Living
  • Self-Absorbed
  • Corrupt
  • Engaged in Pork Barrel Politics
  • Politic-ing
  • Part of the Good Ole Boy Excessive Spending Network

More Characteristics of a PIG …
  • Does little to contribute to the betterment of our country.  Has a high basis salary, low productivity, golden benefits, retirement, bonus and big expense account, and does little more than spend tax payers money.
  • A Pig’s Goal is to increase spending rather reduce spending so he/she introduces and support various veracious spending bills, plus refuses to support cutting government spending. Spends more on what he/she calls the taxpayer’s behalf.
  • Excessive self admiration. An attention whore. Fixated with power and money. Greedy, gluttonous, always hungry for more power and/or money that benefit self.

How Much Is One Trillion ...

How Much Is One Trillion ...

.
How Much Is One Trillion Dollars ...

One trillion is a one with 18 zeros ...

The National Debt from George Washington to the beginning of Ronald Reagan's term totaled about one trillion dollars.
Starting the New Year in Jan 2011
The National Debt will be $14 Trillion ...

Average salary of of a Federal Employee is $75,000 the average salary of an employee in the Private Sector is $45,000.

The are 3 Million (3,000,000) Federal Government Employees ... This does not include Government Employees working for States, County, City or Utilities ...

Multiply 75,000 times 3,000,000 = $225,000, 000,000 or $225 Billion paid out in salary alone annually to Federal Employees in $alaries alone ... The gold parachute benefits package adds another $36,000 to the $75,000 bring the average compensation package to $110,000.

So the total PAID Annually in Federal Government Salaries is $330 Billion this does NOT include EXPENSE ACCOUNTS (which in some cases total millions of dollars) does NOT include BONUS perks ...

More numbers to follow ...

A Good First Step ...

Reduce all Federal Employee $alaries by 35% to bring it in line with the public sector ....

After all THESE PIGS Help Created the debt in the first place ...
